In early December a client of mine texted me with a request for a proposal for an engagement shoot. He sent me a picture of an aluminum structure he and a friend had created with "Carah will you marry me" in large lighted letters. He had made arrangements with Sharon Woods in Cincinnati to set this up in the park during their annual Holiday in Lights. Immediately off the main route of the Holiday in Lights drive-through is a parking lot where the display was set up. It was set up at the back of the parking lot.
To add some depth to the photo, I set up two lights at a distance from the display, one with a blue gel and one with a red gel. The lights were balanced with the light provided by the display. The result is spectacular.
My client's friend, who helped with the construction of the display, kept track of the couple's arrival via gps. So she did not wonder why he was turning off the main drive, his friend called him on his cell phone, and Kyle, my client, pretended that this was a very important client's call he had been awaiting all day and that he needed to take it. Hence, he pulled into the parking lot. Once they pulled in, Kyle's friend plugged in the lights.
What Carah thought was a date with a drive through Holiday in Lights turned out to be something more! Quite a bit more!
Congratulations to Kyle and Carah!
